IP&I Dental Clinic
The Cutting Edge For Your Teeth
The hassle, the inconvenience and that awful smell - all the joys of going to the dentist.
At IP&I Dental Clinic, there's some-thing distinctly different. Just around the comer from Anguk Station, this centrally located state-of-the-art dental facility makes the trip to the dentist almost enjoyable.
From the fluent English-speaking staffto its convenient location, IP&I Dental imparts confidence and prfessionalism. Chief dentist Dr. Sung Ki Paik, who himself trained in the United States and Sweden,
and his staff have received extensive overseas qualifications and experience, adn the office is outfitted with the most up-to-date equipment and facilities.
Located on the third floor of the Somerset Palace Seoul, IP&I is unique and sets itself apart from your average Korean dental office.
Western-style ambience and modem decor provide the setting -no slippers here. Office brochures read,
"We want you to enjoy your dental experience, while you enjoy Korea." Reassuring, especially if you're abroad
and get stuck with a tooth problem needing a permanent professional solution.
The espresso machine in the comer is a nice touch and says it all -quality, taste and efficiency.
Dr. Paik greets me with a smile and sets out to describe his vision that, "In today's world,
there's no need for dental care to be an incon-venience." He explains that dental science has evolved from simply pulling teeth-especially
when they don't need to be removed. Dr. Paik explains that with the right equipment and training, there's no to need to pull or cap with metal.
"We use pure ceramics to restore teeth to a pristine condition in the matter of a few hours."
As one of the few qualified practitioners in Seoul to use the absolute latest in dental
science, he guides me into the operating room of his dental office.
It's pretty much the same as back home-with the exception of a water cooler-size object in the center of the room.
"This is the CEREC System," he says, one of the newest advances in dental care that offers one-stop dental treatments in a single visit,
eliminating that awfully familiar pattern of frequent trips, temporary treatment, discom-fort and the same all over again.
All Done in One Visit
The CEREC System is a German manufac-tured system that is used to reconstruct teeth to the highest standard in craftsmanship and precision.
IP&l's installation of the CEREC, one of a handful of these advanced, state-of-the art systems in Korea, enables them to implement a variety of treatment options not readily available through less robust systems.
For the patient, it means that only one visit is requried f or reconstruction procedures. It's entirely possible to visit the IP&I office in the morning, enjoy a day ofbusiness or pleasure, and return in the afternoon to be fitted with a new custom-designed permanent cap or bridge. No need for days of several visits stretched out over weeks or even months. Patients from abroad can even return home the same day.
In further describing the benefits of the newest technologies, Dr. Paik points out that with the availability of dental records, he can immediately present them to patients before they leave the office. "Patients have their records in their own hands for future refer-ence" so there's no need to wait for process-ing or shipping- everything is complete. What's offered through the CEREC system clearly goes beyond routine dental hygiene. Dr. Paik talks with great passion about a system where "I can do more than one-stop dental care, I can perform art!" One of his patients, Ralph Baldasare from New York, is definitely a fan. "It is remarkable, it's like a sculpture,"referring to how his new tooth was manufactured and how terrific it looks. As one of three dentists in Korea trained in the Noble Direct system, Dr. Paik also specializes in dental implants. There's no longer any need to use dentures, he says. The structure of an aesthetically pleasing smile can be fully constructed using techniques pioneered decades ago. In using the system, Dr. Paik describes the use of titanium to create a new set of teeth. "The titanium becomes fused with the bone," he says, creat-mg a permanent structure to anchor the replacement teeth. In a relatively short time, a patient can have a fully functioning set of teeth that willlast them the rest oftheir lives.
Dental Implants, Just Like the Originals
Implants have many advantages over tradi-tional dental care -they're a permanent solu-tion to the problem of decayed teeth, and are a viable option for those lacking the back teeth necessary to anchor any bridge work. Aside from the pride of a full smile, implants can also be used to reconstruct teeth for victims of jaw injuries or those born with defects of the mouth or jaw. Dentistry is more than a vain, flashy smile, it's about providing quality of life, as Dr. Paik reiterates in the Five Virtues of Life described in his office brchure. With the use of an advanced implant system or CEREC treatment, no longer is natural wear and tear from aging a detriment to indulging your passion for certain foods. Moreover, with all the treatments, the new teeth are always a perfect match to the origi-nals. Says patient Baldasare, "I am shocked at how natural it all feels." The dental technol-ogy provided by CEREC is a perfect 3D copy of the original tooth and when the replace-ment is cut at the office, it's virtually indistin-guishable from the original. "I wanted to pursue a special aesthetic clinic," Dr. Paik says. He designed a top-tier dental establishment with the needs of patients from all over the globe in mind. Just because you're here for a short time doesn't mean you have to endure dental pain or settle for standard dental treatment. IP&I Dental Clinic provides excellent care that won't interfere with your travel or business agenda. Dr. Paik adds a final thought, "IP&I Dental Clinic is my small contribution to making a better world by doing something a littl differ-ently in a health service that has changed only sparingly over the years." To discover the other Virtues ofLife, you'lljust have to pay a little visit to the dentist.
